Over fifty women gathered at BellaArtista’s studio at Watermans Business Centre Chadstone to raise funds for the fight against cancer last month. There are very few amongst us who haven’t been affected by cancer in some form- either as survivors or as friends and family of those fighting. In hosting this event, we were inspired by Angela’s mother, Giovanna, who has had breast cancer three times. Giovanna and Angela’s two daughters, Natalie and Belinda were on hand, pouring champagne, entering the games and waving pink balloons, and enjoying the special atmosphere that comes with having fun with a fabulous group of women.
We were overwhelmed with the generosity of our sponsors, with over 30 businesses donating goods, services, raffles, and prizes, including a beautiful necklace donated by our Watermans colleague Adam Luckin in honour of his late wife, Dana.
The ladies enjoyed champagne, pink jelly shots, delicious catering including cupcakes that were almost too pretty to eat- almost… Collectively, we raised $1720 which will go towards research, prevention and support services for women with cancer. The event finished with beautiful goody bags and one important message- check your boobs!
